Liar

LIAR by Justine Larbalestier

“Liar” is about a girl who has difficulties with telling the truth, whether its with adults, teens, or even her parents. Her boyfriend ends up dead and everyone kind of suspects her because all she ever does is lie.
The significance of the title “Liar” is exactly what it says. Micah is a liar. She lies about simple things like at the beginning of the book her teacher mistakes her for a boy and she doesn’t correct the teacher. She lies about having a brother and that they hate each other.  So what if shes lying about everything in the book. I wish someone else was telling the story about her, so maybe we would know what’s the truth is or isn’t.  At the end of the book something happens to her teacher, I don’t really know how to take it because it kind of seems like it moved one thing and then was on a different part.
“Liar” really annoys me because I don’t know what to think about it, she ends up saying shes a werewolf but with so many lies how can anyone believe  her?  Also about her parents living her at the greats, I know it seems like a good idea, but all the parents I know of wouldn’t be able to just leave them and never see them again.  Finally, she shares who killed Zach but whose to say that she didn’t. All Micah ever does is lie! That’s why no matter what happens in the book I won’t believe it because she is a Liar!

  1. I love your use of the word "annoy." The book can be very frustrating depending on whether you want to take it at face value. Each reader is going to have an individual interpretation...
